Preheat your Westinghouse oven to 170°C with the "EasyBake + Steam" setting.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then gradually add the eggs, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla essence. Sift the cake flour and baking powder into the mixture, then add the milk and mix until smooth.
Pour the golden syrup into the base of a greased baking dish, then pour the batter over it. Cover with baking paper and the pudding dish lid.
Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
Serve warm with extra golden syrup and vanilla ice cream.
